2018-19 coach development - competitions

Combined events coaches have the opportunity to hone their skills with an in-competition observation, feedback and reflection in the three main combined event championships of the season.

  1. South Island Combined Events Championships
    Aorangi Stadium, Timaru
    November 17-18, 2018
  2.  North Island Combined Events Championships tbc
    Porritt Stadium, Hamilton tbc
    November 3-4 OR 10-11, 2018
  3. NZ Combined Events Championships
    Nga Puna Wai, Christchurch
    16-17 January, 2019

In conjunction with the North and South Island combined events championships, an informal coaches gathering will take place.
Event group lead Terry Lomax will share with the group:

  1. Explanation of the event group plan 
  2. Outline of squad structures
  3. Future competition opportunities for the u16,18,20 age groups
  4. Athlete specialist technical event development opportunities

2018-19 athlete development - technical

The combined events group will strategically link with specialist event groups for technical development via their camps and clinics. Doing so will ensure combined events athletes access to event specialist coaches to further their understanding and development in key events; 
  1. Pole vault camp - Auckland / Hawkes Bay
  2. Throws camp - Christchurch (Jan 2019)
