 as part of the Athletics NZ High Performance Programme
 offers the chance for athletes and coaches to
lift performance at all levels.


2018- 19 Regional Development camps

Aiming to build on the principles established at the 2016 Jumps Conference in High Jump,Long Jump and Triple Jump, a series of regional development competition camps will take place

  • 2-4 Nov 2018  - Christchurch -location tbc
  • 16-17 Jan 2019 - The Hub, Hawera tbc
  • 19-20 Jan 2019 - Newtown Park, Wellington tbc
  • 9-10 Feb 2019 - Porritt Stadium, Hamilton tbc

Clinics will focus on:

  • Established understanding of the principles of sound technique
  • P2P Coach-Athlete critical clinic opportunity to help in setting possible technical planning parameters for HJ/LJ athletes at Performance Development & Performance Levels
  • Increasing the standard of Jumps coaching in the country in events where previous historical international success has been gained, especially the Long Jump (OG medal and finallists).
  • Re-establishing agreed training approach for the transfer of athletes from the Performance Development stage to Performance Level.
  • Outline the current ‘State of the Nation’ for both events.

2018-19 regional development clinics

We are pleased to announce a series of regionally delivered practical jumps clinics for athletes and coaches.

Clinics will cover a range of fundamentals, speed, power and technique relevant for all Athletics jumping events. 
Targeted at the 13 - 18year athlete, however athletes 18+ are also encouraged to attend to sharpen up their skills.  
Current Athletics NZ Accredited Coaches may attend for $10,
Cost is $5 per athlete and non-accredited coaches $25.


Regan Standing and Terry Lomax will host clinics in:

  • Tauranga Saturday 8 Septmber starting 10:30am
  • Hamilton Saturday 8 September starting 4pm
  • Auckland Sunday 9 September 1030-1230pm, Massey Park, Papakura

Ed Fern and Terry Lomax will host clinics in:

  • Whanganui  Friday 14 September starting 5pm
  • Palmerston North Saturday 15 September starting 10am
  • Wellington Sunday 16 September starting 10:30am

Terry Lomax will host clinics in;

  • Dunedin Sunday 23 September starting 1030am 
  • Invercargill Sunday 23 September starting 3pm
