The Event grid for the 2025 New Zealand Track & Field Season is here. There is a jam packed summer of track and field on the horizon, headlined by the World Athletics Continental Tour meets heading to New Zealand.

The season features the long standing International Track Meet (22 Feb) in Christchurch and the Sir Graeme Douglas International (9 Feb) in Auckland as Bronze level meetings.

They are joined in 2025 by the Pak’NSave Cooks Classic (25 Jan),and Team Ledger Harcourts Capital Classic (29 Jan), Andrew Spence Pharmacies Potts Classic (1 Feb), which are now hosting a combined bronze meet. Each meet will play host to five bronze level events with the rest of their program being a National Permit status.

These pinnacle meets are supported by the National Permit Meets of the Lovelock Classic (11 Jan) in Timaru and the Porritt Classic (15 Feb) in Hamilton. Also on the national calendar this year; the distance focused Night of 5s (21 Dec 2024) in Auckland, the specialist Jumps meet – Jumps to Music (22 Jan) in Hawera, and the Sola Power Throwers Meet (18 Jan) in Lower Hutt.

The summer season comes to a peak in March as athletes descend on Dunedin for the Jennian Homes NZ National Track and Field Championships. Featuring U16, U18, U20 and Senior athletes all vying for national honours.

Our Para event grid will be available soon!

The event grid is subject to change. For the most up to date and accurate information please visit the World Athletics competitions calendar.
We appreciate the time and effort from each individual meet in deciding what their individual events host will be. Relays, non-standard distances, and walks will be available at certain meets across the season.
