Anna Grimaldi announced as Paralympic Games flagbearer
Anna Grimaldi alongside Cameron Leslie and were unveiled as the two New Zealand Paralympic Team flagbearers for the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games
Grimaldi, who has claimed back-to-back Paralympic long jump T47 titles at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Games, said: “I couldn’t be more honoured to be one of the Team flagbearers with Cam. When I was asked, I was really emotional. To have been thought of as a leader in this space makes me proud of how far I’ve come in my career.”
Grimaldi was announced as the flag bearer at the Paralympic farewell and final team announcement in Auckland on the 24th of August.
“I can’t wait to get to Paris and carry the flag alongside Cam. It is going to be one of the highlights of my career.”
The Paralympics kick off in Paris on the 28th of August and run until the 8th of September. Anna Grimaldi will be competing in the T47 Long jump, T47 100m and the T47 200m.
