New Zealand 10,000m Championships Set to Ignite Inglewood

The 2025 New Zealand 10,000m Championships are set to light up the TET Stadium in Inglewood, Taranaki, on Saturday, 18 January. New Zealand’s top distance runners will descend on Taranaki to compete for national titles in senior and U20 men’s and senior women’s categories. An exciting supporting event schedule also allows all athletes to get involved.

The action begins at 6:00 pm with an open 800m race, welcoming athletes aged 10 years and above to test their speed over two laps. This is followed at 6:30 pm by the Open 3000m Walk.

Adding a thrilling team dynamic to the evening, the Invitational Women’s Pursuit Relay (2,000m) takes place at 7:00 pm, providing an exciting prelude to the Senior Women’s 10,000m New Zealand Championship at 7:15 pm. The battle for national glory will feature emerging talent and seasoned veterans!

As the evening progresses, the energy ramps up with the Invitational Men’s Pursuit Relay (2,000m) at 8:00 pm, paving the way for the Senior Men’s and U20 Men’s 10,000m New Zealand Championship at 8:15 pm. This race will see New Zealand’s top male distance runners push themselves to their limits under the lights in pursuit of national titles and personal bests.
