Registrations open for 2020 Club Connect Conference

Registrations are now open for the 2020 Club Connect Conference, bringing together Athletics NZ and members from its 170 clubs for a day of collaboration and idea sharing.

The 2020 Club Connect Conference will be held on Sunday 8 November from 10am to 3pm at Bruce Pulman Park, Auckland.

The conference, free for members, volunteers, helpers and coaches of all athletics clubs to attend, will have sessions on different aspects of club development and provide assistance for clubs delivering athletics in their communities.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Innovation in Athletics’ and it will be an exciting day of learning, discussion, and networking. Athletics NZ will be facilitating more conversation and interaction than previous years – giving clubs the opportunity to provide feedback and guidance to the Athletics NZ team.

“Healthy, vibrant clubs at the heart of their community are critical to having a healthy and sustainable sport. Athletics NZ’s major focus in this area is therefore on helping clubs to help themselves,” Athletics NZ Club Development Leader Mariah Ririnui says.

“We are looking to support our 170 clubs through initiatives such as the Club Connect Conference, a targeted club programme, regional roadshows and the Athletics NZ Affiliated Club Handbook. The Club Connect Conference is a crucial part of supporting our clubs and aims to upskill club administrations, helping to provide them with the tools and knowledge to deliver our wonderful sport in their regions.

“Last year’s Club Connect Conference was the most successful yet with over 100 club delegates from across New Zealand gathering for a day of networking, learning and discussion. We’re looking forward to again bringing many of our club members together for what is sure to be another valuable learning experience.”

Clubs can register for Club Connect 2020 by clicking here. The conference is free for all athletics clubs to attend – including a complimentary lunch and light refreshments.
