Updated guidance on athletics under Alert Level 2

Athletics New Zealand has updated its guidance in regards to athletics activity under Alert Level 2.

As of Monday 31 August, all regions in New Zealand are now at Alert Level 2, although some additional restrictions remain in Auckland.

These additional restrictions will remain in place until at least Monday 14 September and have implications for athletics activity in the Auckland region.

Athletics activities in all parts of the country can still continue, albeit with some restrictions and modifications.

At Alert Level 2 it is mandatory for organisations (including clubs and centres) to display a QR code for the NZ COVID Tracer app if they are operating out of their own facility. The process is easy for clubs and centres, for more information please click here

Community Resilience Fund Phase 2

Clubs and centres who are experiencing ongoing hardship due to the effects of COVID-19 are eligible for this grant, which so far has awarded over $70,000 to athletics centres and clubs around New Zealand.

The fund is now less restrictive as you can apply for operating costs (such as coaching costs and event delivery costs), which could not be considered in the initial fund.

The fund is administered by your local Regional Sports Trust, and applications close Friday 4 September (with the exception of Auckland, in which the fund has been extended for a further two weeks).
