INTERNATIONAL RESULTS
CZECH REPUBLIC
64th Ostrava Golden Spike, Mestsky Stadion, Ostrava, 24 June: Zoe Hobbs 100m 10.94 +0.6 PB (3), Oceania and New Zealand National Record, breaks her own record of 10.96 set in Switzerland in July 2023. Hobbs has now set or equalled the national 100m record eleven times, since equaling Michelle Seymour’s 1993 record of 11.32 in Hastings in March 2021 and again three months later in Townsville. Thelma Davies won in Ostrava in a PB and Liberian record of 10.91.
Hobbs said that she had a really good start.
“I came out really low and almost stumbled, but I managed to hold it, and at 30m I was still ahead, and I thought what the heck’s going on. But I just kept going and flowing,”
She added that she was mind blown and super stoked with the result.
“I’ve been in good form lately. Training in the last three has been really consistent, but that hasn’t quite shown in the results. Last weekend in Finland was reassuring, and I feel like I’m on a bit of a roll now. I wanted that momentum to carry on to this race.”

NATIONAL RESULTS
WELLINGTON
Athletics New Zealand Half Marathon Championship, Sky Stadium – 29 June 2025
Lisa Cross won the national women’s title in a personal best and course record 1:13:37, finishing a minute ahead of Katherine Camp. It was also a personal best 1:14:40 for Camp. For the 42-year-old, Cross it was her eighth national title and third this year, adding to her 10,000m and 5km titles. Her previous best time of 1:14:22 was run in 2012 on the Gold Coast. Cross won the half-marathon in Wellington in 2019.
Cross said that she had to endure a slight injury coming into the race.
“I had my foot smashed into a running rail while I was at full gallop on a horse and I couldn’t run for two weeks and I was a bit concerned that that was going to hold me back. But fortunately, it was really fat and not broken and I was able to bike and exercise.”
Cross said that she set out in the second bunch of runners and ran with Camp.
“At the turnaround at the halfway mark, it was time to go, and I made the split from Katherine,” she added.
Cross now looks forward to a good cross country season and possibly the World Mountain Running Championships in Spain in September.
Toby Gualter repeated his win in Wellington last year, taking out the national title in a course record 1:04:32. Eric Speakman was second with Mike Robinson third. Gualter adds the half-marathon title to the 10,000m, 5km, and mountain running titles won this year.
A total of 1849 runners competed in the half marathon.
