NATIONAL RESULTS

AUCKLAND
New Zealand Masters Track and Field Championships, Mt Smart Stadium – 28/30 March 2025

Lisa Cross who holds the New Zealand W40 5000m record of 16:26.53, easily won the W40 title in 16:30.04. David Blackford was just outside the M60 400m record of 58.11 in winning in 58.19.

In the triple jump Scott Thomson set an M30 record of 14.17m and David Anstiss an M80 record of 8.00m.

Remy Le Brun collected the M35 sprint treble as did Andriete Rodrigues in the W30. Sally Gibbs won the W60 800m, 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m.

Sam Holliss in the race walks won the W40 1500m, 3000m and 5000m, as did Catherine McCarten in the W45. Wim Luijpers, chasing M55 record,s won the 800m in 2:09.32 and the 1500m in 4:21.53.

A total of 281 athletes took part over the three days. There were four athletes from Australia, three from the Cook Islands, 1 from England, 11 from French Polynesia and three from Samoa.

The 2023 winners returned to claim the national title. Weston Hill with a time of 4:58:44 in the men and Katie Morgan recording 5:56:08 for the women’s title.
