Port Hills team of Louie Howell, Luke Jansen, Brynne Gordon and Kerry Gordon won the 4 x 5km relay in 1:16:03 from New Brighton Olympic 1:19:18 and Don Greig Racing 1:23:55.

Christchurch Avon (Charlotte Chiles, Wendy Richards, Lahana Reeves and Kate Currie) won the senior women relay in 1:24:10.

Ben Scott won the senior 10km in 34:57 from Dean Stewart 35:54 and Sagar Khemani 37:29. Dwight Grieve was the fastest overall winning the master men 10km in 33:09 from Craig Iversen 33:30 and Andrew Horton 40:26.

OBITUARY
Prominent Athletics New Zealand official during the 2010’s Kathryn Fraser of Christchurch died on Wednesday 30 August 2023 aged 57 as a result of an E-Scooter accident.

Kathryn was an Oceania area walks judge and was a regular official at Athletics Canterbury and Athletics New Zealand events. She was a walks judge, chief walks judge as well as assistant chief track umpire at New Zealand track and field championships from 2010 to 2021. She was an official at the 2015 Oceania Athletic Championships in Cairns and at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Kathryn was the chair of the Athletics New Zealand Officials Association from 2015 to its dissolution in July 2021. She led the Association through to becoming an Incorporated Society and obtained grant funding to provide accommodation for officials attending national championships. She also organised wet weather jackets for all officials and all-weather folders.

Kathryn attended Timaru Girls’ High School from 1979 to 1983 and was currently Scholarships and Postgraduate Co-ordinator at Ara Institute of Canterbury.

A service to celebrate Kathryn’s life will be held in the Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road Burnside on Wednesday 6 September at 2pm.
