2023 World Athletics Road Running Championships Team Announcement

Athletics NZ is pleased to announce that seven athletes have been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2023 World Athletics Road Running Championships in Riga, Latvia on 1 October.

Senior Men:

5km

Half Marathon

Cameron Avery Christchurch Avon Athletic Club, Coach Chris Pilone

Michael Voss Lake City Athletics Club, Coach Kim Stevenson

Oska Inkster-Baynes University of Canterbury, Coach Matt Ingram

Chris Dryden University of Canterbury, Coach Nick Burrow

Senior Women:

Half Marathon

Debbie Donald – Masterton Athletics and Cycling Club, Coach Lisa Weightman

Katherine Camp – Te Awamutu Club, Coach Craig Kirkwood

Each of the athletes bring with them significant experience and achievements over the half marathon and 5km events.

We wish them all the best for the rest of their preparations in the lead up to the championships, and we are looking forward to seeing how they perform in Latvia.
