Athletics New Zealand team up with Huawei’s First Professional Running Watch, Designed for Athletes
Athletics New Zealand is excited to announce a new collaboration with Huawei around the launch of the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner, which aims to bring a more scientific and professional training experience to recreational and competitive runners in New Zealand. As part of the collaboration with Huawei, their new device will be introduced to some of our senior athletes.
“From grassroots through to elite competition, technology and innovation play an essential role in both the delivery of athletics and preparing our athletes to perform at their best,” said Peter Pfitzinger, Chief Executive, Athletics New Zealand.
“It is great to be working with Huawei New Zealand around the launch of their HUAWEI WATCH GT series and to be able to introduce their latest technology in the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner to some of our senior athletes,” added Peter.
The all-new HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner comes with a streamlined design, lightweight materials, a comfortable wearing experience, and is packed with Huawei’s latest health and fitness technology. This includes 24/7 accurate dynamic heart rate and SpO2 monitoring, HUAWEI TruSeen™ 5.0+, 14-day battery life, and Dual-Band Five-System GNSS features which ensures hyper accurate GPS positioning.
Huawei hopes to continuously improve and enrich people’s lives through technology and has turned the new device into a personal running coach. Huawei’s Running Ability Index and AI Running Coach allows users to accurately evaluate their performance and improve it through a personalised training programme, achieving their goal more efficiently and effectively.
In the development process of the new HUAWEI TruSeen™ 5.0+ feature, Huawei was focused on delivering a more accurate heart rate monitoring experience. Thanks to the new PPG 5.0 module, the accuracy of heart rate monitoring is greatly improved compared to previous Huawei watches. HUAWEI TruSeenTM 5.0+’s powerful anti-interference and noise reduction design also copes better with the motion noise caused by irregular movement and improves the accuracy of heart rate measurement when working out.
Additionally, HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner is the first sports watch with a suspended antenna design. This hides the positioning antenna in the watch’s lugs which are made of polymer fiber material to reduce the interference of the positioning signal caused by metal material. The new antenna also supports the dual-band GNSS five-system positioning chip to provide impressive GPS positioning accuracy.
