McKinnon Shield Meeting #5, Mt Smart Stadium – 23 November 2019
Hamish Gill set an Auckland 60m record of 6.76 -1.2 heading in Matthew Wyatt 7.00 and Dare Oye 7.05. Gill a former national junior 100m, 200m and long jump champion broke the previous time of 6.78 jointly held with Wyatt and set at Mt Smart four years ago. Gill later won the 100m in a PB 10.49 -1.5 from Zachary Saunders 10.94 PB and Wyatt 10.95. Dominic Overend started in the 100m but pulled up mid-way with an injury putting paid to his defence of the senior boys sprint double at the New Zealand secondary schools championships. Saunders won the 838 300m H in 40.73. Lee Lober-Chan 41.84 PB.
Briana Stephenson won the women’s 60m in 7.68 -1.3, Natasha Eady was second and Nadia Evans third. Eady won the 100m in 12.06 0.0 from Stephenson 12.08 and Evans 12.20.
