We have received information that the International Association of Ultrarunners (“IAU”) has invited New Zealand to compete in the 2022 IAU 24H Asia and Oceania Championships to be held in Bengaluru India on July 2-3, 2022.

The Championships will be held on the track at Shree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru with both individual and team categories available

Travel insurance, international flights, domestic flights and any other related costs will be arranged by the athlete at their own expense. Uniform will be arranged through Athletics NZ and at the athlete’s expense.

SELECTION CONSIDERATIONS

For an athlete to be considered for selection for the 2022 IAU 24H Asia and Oceania Championships (“IAU 24H AOC”) based on results achieved in New Zealand during the Qualification Period i.e., 1 June 2020 – 29 May 2022, they must have achieved one (1) of the following:

1. For a Team Event, an athlete should have finished in the “Top 25” in a 24Hour race or a race over 150km; and/or
2. For an Individual Event in a category where the Selectors decide not to select a team, then an athlete should have finished in the “Top 20” in a NZ 24 Hour race or a race over 150km.

For an athlete to be considered for selection for the 2022 IAU 24H AOC based on results achieved outside of New Zealand during the Qualification Period, they must have achieved one (1) of the following:

1. For a Team Event, an athlete should have finished in the “Top 25” in at least one 24 Hour race or a race over 150km during the Qualification Period, which was sanctioned by the
