Jennian Homes on board for track and field champs

Athletics NZ is pleased to announce that the highlight of the summer calendar, the New Zealand Track and Field Championships, will again be sponsored by Jennian Homes as naming rights partner.

Jennian Homes, New Zealand’s most awarded home builder, is a long-standing partner of Athletics NZ and is proud to support one of the country’s oldest sporting events, which dates back to 1889.

The 2021 Jennian Homes New Zealand Track and Field Championships will take place at Mitre 10 Park in Hastings across three days from 5 March and is set to attract over 600 of the country’s finest athletes.

It is always among the highlights of the sporting year but the 2021 meet promises to be even more special as it takes place only a few months before the rescheduled Olympic Games, meaning many of the competitors will be at their best as they look to peak for a shot at glory in Tokyo.

All the big names of New Zealand athletics are likely to descend on Hastings, meaning locals will be treated to the likes of Dame Valerie Adams, Tom Walsh, Eliza McCartney and rising sprint star Eddie Osei-Nketia all strutting their stuff on home soil.

A host of Paralympians will also be on show, including Holly Robinson, Anna Grimaldi, Jess Hamill and William Stedman, who all won medals at the 2016 Rio Paralympics, and world-record holder Lisa Adams.

Those who can’t be in Hawkes Bay will still be able to follow the action with significant media coverage across New Zealand and live streaming worldwide.

Aidan Jury, the Sales, Marketing and Franchise Director of Jennian Homes, is relishing the prospect.

“The Jennian Homes team is proud to be continuing our sponsorship of the Jennian Homes New Zealand Track and Field Championships into 2021,” he says.

“It is great to see the country’s premium track and field event come to the beautiful region of Hawke’s Bay and an excellent facility at Mitre 10 Park. Jennian Homes is particularly excited to be behind New Zealand’s leading athletes and their families in their quest towards qualification for and success at the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.”

Athletics NZ CEO Peter Pfitzinger is just as enthused to be extending the organisation’s partnership with Jennian Homes.

“We are pleased to continue our relationship with Jennian Homes and are grateful for their support of our flagship event,” he says.

“Hawke’s Bay will be a wonderful place to host this event and I am looking forward to welcoming everyone to Mitre 10 Park for what is sure to be three exciting days of top-class athletics.”
