Given the move to the red light traffic light setting across the whole of New Zealand, which is likely to remain for some time, Athletics New Zealand and Athletics Hawke’s Bay Gisborne are currently working through options and requirements to deliver the competition in Hastings in early March.

We are working on a plan to ensure the event can be held safely, whilst adhering to government guidelines and Covid protocols, and are aiming to provide a more detailed update by Friday 4 February at the latest.

Athletes, Officials and Coaches are asked to keep an eye out for an announcement next week, and in the meantime at this stage we are optimistic that the 2022 event will be able to go ahead in a modified format for all age groups.
