New Zealand 24-Hour Championships Update

Following the continued uncertainty around Covid restrictions, regrettably the decision has been made to cancel the 2021 New Zealand 24-hour Championships, which was scheduled to take place at AUT Millennium, Auckland on 13-14 November.

The event is organised jointly by Athletics NZ and the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team.

Athletics NZ Competitions Manager Jason Cameron said: “We fully acknowledge the disappointment felt by all competitors, officials and volunteers connected with the New Zealand 24-hour championships. However, with the current ongoing restrictions facing the Auckland region and the likelihood that these will remain for some time we made the pragmatic decision to cancel this year’s event.”

We hope to update on the date and venue of the 2022 New Zealand 24-hour championships in the coming weeks.

The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team will contact all entrants to arrange a full refund of the entry fee.
