AUCKLAND
McKinnon Shield #9, Mt Smart Stadium, Lloyd Elsmore Park Pakuranga and AUT Millennium Stadium North Shore – 13 March 2021
Rio Olympics pole vault bronze medallist Eliza McCartney had her first competition in 21 months, clearing the bar at 4.32m. McCartney, who holds the New Zealand national record of 4.94m from 2018, last competed in Cairns, winning with 4.60m.

Competing indoors at the AUT Millennium, McCartney started at 4.02m which she cleared on her third attempt, was over 4.17m on her first attempt and was successful at 4.32m on her third attempt. She then retired from the competition. Imogen Ayris was second with 4.17m and Aria Rhodes third, over at 3.22m.

Ettiene Du Preez in the men’s pole vault reached over at 4.62m, Joshua Bull 4.17m and Ruben Vogel 4.02m.
