Tauranga is all set to host an Athletica NZ Jump Future Squad development camp and an Eastern-North Island Para-Athletics Camp on the weekend of 17-18 December.

The Jumps Future Squad, led by Athletics NZ Lead for Combined Events and Jumps Terry Lomax, comprises identified high performance and performance athletes in all jumps events. The camp will offer development opportunities for these athletes and their coaches, as well as open jumps coaching clinics on Sunday morning.

On the same weekend, Athletics NZ Para Athletes lead Raylene Bates and Athletics NZ High Performance Coaching Manager Kirsten Hellier, will be leading a Para-Athletics Camp for emerging athletes identified through Parafed or Halberg Games, as well as athletes currently focused on future international competitions, including the Paris 2023 and Kobe 2024 World Para Athletics Championships, and the Paris 2024 Paralympics. The camps will provide training, education and goal-setting for athletes, coaches and parents and sessions will be co-delivered by other national-level coaches from around the country.

The weekend also includes the Tauranga Christmas Open meeting on Saturday 17 December.
